Resources to help you research your topic, build your website and get it found.

The resources listed below are mentioned in New Path to Riches. I have added some additional sites and will continue to add to this page as I come across new and better resources.

Keyword research tools:

Use these tools to find relevant words or phrases which are most likely to get your site pages listed high up in the search engine results.

Google Keyword Tool – a free service that gives you a good insight into the relative supply and demand of the keywords you are interested in.

Wordtracker - a subscription service to help you identify keywords and phrases with high demand and relatively low supply.

KeywordDiscovery – same kind of tool as Wordtracker. Different company, with some different bells and whistles.

Finding domain names and hosting your website:

GoDaddy

Hostgator

BlueHost

Website building platforms and tools:

SiteBuildIt – an all-in-one subscription service that includes all the tools and services you need to create a successful money-making-website. (This is the platform I use to create, manage and market my most successful website, CoffeeDetective.com)

Yola – a free service that provides you with a range of site templates to choose from. At the moment, the only cost is the price of hosting your site.

iPower – another template-based site-building tool.

SquareSpace - another template-based site-building tool.

Wordpress – a free service that allows you to build a blog, a website or a combination of both.

Dreamweaver – a desktop application you use to build web pages. You will also need a hosting account and an FTP program to upload your site pages from your desktop.

MidnightDonkey – a good place to get help if you are not sure how to set up your new website or blog.

Directories where you might want to have your new website listed:

Dmoz.org – a huge directory of sites, chosen and organized by an army of volunteer editors. When you submit your site, there is no guarantee you will be included. And if you are, I can take quite a while. But it is free, so worth a try.

Yahoo! Directory – another good directory, although it costs $299 a year to be included, and after submitting your site and paying the fee, there is no guarantee you will be listed.

SearchSight – one of many directories which charge a small fee to get your website listed.
